Rackspace is acquiring startup Cloudklik which launched in early 2009 and offers a full-fledged server management system to businesses.
CloudKlik’s Website stated the following. “We are excited to join the Rackspace family, and are confident this will allow us to offer the absolute best cloud management experience possible, for everyone. We will continue to support multiple clouds, and our users can expect to receive the same, high level of service.
Cloudkick cloud server monitoring and management tools, support APIs and the elastic nature of the cloud. From performance monitoring and fault detection to trend visualization and graphing, CloudKlik’s tools work across the entire cloud computing infrastructure. Cloudkick’s platform will consistently check whether servers are alive and functioning and then alert you if servers go down
Cloudkick clients can run their infrastructure on the Rackspace Cloud, Amazon EC2, GoGrid, and other cloud hosting providers, and never have to worry about multiple, slightly different API implementations and ways of accessing cloud resources. Cloudkick creates a unified experience and combines the best parts of Nagios, Cacti, and Munin into an easy-to-use, simple to set up web-based dashboard for controlling and monitoring your entire infrastructure.
