Cloud Based Scalable Infrastructure for an Education NGO
Customer Name: Pehlay Akshar
[CSP: AWS | Vertical: NGOEducation ]Client Profile
Pehlay Akshar Foundation is an education-focused NGO working with public schools across India to improve English proficiency and life skills for underserved children. Through its EvaliX platform, the foundation leverages technology and Generative AI to support teacher training, student assessments, and personalized feedback.
Challenge
With increasing adoption of AI-driven assessments, the volume of data and analytics grew rapidly. The existing Amazon OpenSearch setup lacked a structured Index State Management strategy, leading to slow query performance, rising storage and compute costs, and heavy manual effort for index maintenance. The foundation needed a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architecture that could grow with future data demands while reducing operational risk.
Solution
A comprehensive AWS-based architecture was implemented, covering networking, security, compute, AI services, and DevOps. Services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon S3, and Amazon OpenSearch were integrated with automated index lifecycle policies for data tiering, rollover, and retention. Security and governance were enforced using IAM, CloudTrail, AWS WAF, and Systems Manager, while CloudWatch enabled end-to-end monitoring. CI/CD pipelines using CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CodeDeploy streamlined application delivery.
Business Impact
The new architecture significantly improved query performance, optimized storage and compute costs, and reduced manual operational overhead. Automated index management and monitoring enhanced system stability and scalability, enabling the foundation to handle growing data volumes predictably. Overall, the solution delivered a future-ready, secure, and cost-effective platform that allows Pehlay Akshar Foundation to focus on its core mission of delivering quality education at scale.
